  My father and a brother from Vietnam just had a get together yesterday, My father's friend Hank came up from Florida to PA to visit, it took over 40 years for them to find each other. They were telling me when they were in Vietnam, (they were in a recon platoon in the middle of the jungle - 101st airborne), that Nancy Sinatra and James Gardner actually came out to visit with them in the middle of the jungle unlike the other celebs that visited the troops. They were saying how dangerous it was. I have so much respect for you Nancy for doing that, the veterans have definitely not forgotten your compassion, support, and kindness. Thank you for your bravery and dignity, you are one of a kind. I just wanted to let you know how grateful they were and still are, and how cool I think you are!!!!

  Dear Nancy,
You are an inspiration. Not just for your musical talent but also your USO involvement during the Viet Nam war. You have courage and strength that is uncommon in the modern world. I admire you for your anti-war songs and your courage to speak out and follow your own path. Thank you for being yourself. I look forward to a time when I can meet you in person, till then I am thankful for people like you who push the envelope without asking what the consequences are. Be the strong independent woman you are, and embrace those who love you for it. Thanks again, much respect,
C. S. Dailey (atlas in your chat) keep in touch

  Dear Nancy, Thank you for entertaining our troops at Xuan Loc Vietnam in 66 or 67. We really appreciated you being there with us and I will never forget it. I still have pictures. I buckeled you into my helicopter when you left our base camp. You were a thrill for all of us and we enjoyed it so much. You were there for us....but you did not have to be there. It saya a lot about you. Thank you so much.

  That was the most amazing hour I have spent on a website in the longest time.
The photos were awesome and you haven't changed a bit in years!
Hope to see you at the Zoo again sometime; don't get around much anymore, single-daddying and working full time will do that to a guy.
Please visit myspace.com/djpoitras or YouTube/Stringmaniacal for my latest instrumental musings!
I felt like I was right there in some of those shots! Amazing pics , Nancy!
Hope this message reaches you fine, the site has not been updated since 2002...
Thank you for being a friend;

John Galway   From: London, England
  Hi Nancy,
My name is John Galway, I am a songwriter based in London UK. I have enjoyed a successful career so far and I must confess this is partly due to your father's impact on my life from a young age. I have written a tribute song that I know you will agree respectfully captures the essence of his life. The song is called 'No White Flag' and can be found at www.myspace.com/mistersingatra. I hope you will listen to it and I'd love to get your feedback. All my love... John Galway
